Busting Green Buildup on a Sandy Pines Two-Story Home
House Washing • Wheatfield, Indiana
The two-story home in Sandy Pines, Wheatfield had a fair bit of green buildup, especially noticeable on the shaded sides of the house. This place belongs to a buddy of mine’s mom who needed the cleaning done. The siding had gone too long without attention, and it was time to get it sorted out before it got any worse.
We went straight to it with a soft wash, which is our go-to method for tackling algae and other organic growth on siding. It was the best approach to clean the spots thoroughly without risking any damage to the house. Aside from the algae, there were also rust stains under the spigot-something that can happen over time if you've got a bit of a drip. We managed to remove those as well, clearing up the area around the spigot nicely.
Once we finished up, the house looked a lot fresher. You could see the siding was back to its original color, and the rust stains were gone from under the spigot. It's always good to keep ahead of this kind of buildup, especially in areas with lots of shade. Taking care of it every few years avoids having to deal with even heavier growth down the line.
